From Asset Ranking to Sector Timing
The Asset Outperformer Engine ranks individual assets, but aggregating these rankings by sector reveals broader rotation patterns. If the top-ranked assets are disproportionately in the DeFi sector while gaming tokens cluster at the bottom, capital is rotating from gaming to DeFi. This sector-level signal informs allocation decisions that individual asset rankings alone cannot.
Multi-Period Confirmation
Sector rotation signals are most reliable when confirmed across multiple timeframes. A sector that ranks highest on the 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day views is in a sustained relative uptrend. A sector that ranks highest on the 7-day view but poorly on the 90-day view might be experiencing a short-term bounce within a longer-term decline. The multi-period view distinguishes sustainable rotation from temporary noise.
Cross-Asset Sector Analysis
The engine covers crypto, stocks, commodities, and precious metals. Comparing sector rotation patterns across asset classes reveals macro-level themes. If energy commodities and energy stocks are both showing improving relative performance, the rotation reflects a genuine shift in commodity demand or supply expectations, not just crypto-specific dynamics. This cross-asset confirmation adds confidence to sector allocation decisions.
Timing the Allocation Shift
The most practical approach is gradual. When a sector begins showing consistent relative outperformance across multiple timeframes, increase allocation to that sector incrementally over 2-4 weeks. When a sector's relative performance deteriorates, reduce allocation gradually. This avoids the whipsaw of binary sector switches and captures the bulk of the rotation move without requiring precise timing.
