The internet is buzzing with the MegaWoosh commercial from Microsoft. This is a great example of viral marketing.
The idea behind viral marketing is to let your target audience share your brand and marketing message by giving them something useful and interesting to pass around.
Now, the 12 of you who actually read this blog know that I'm always looking to increase my blog stats.
So I sat down to think about what I could create that people would want to pass around, spreading DataPig fever (aka swine flu).
It has to be free, fun to play with, and interesting.
Unfortunately after an hour, this is all I came up with.
Am I doing it wrong?
Lovely. Who does your makeup?
Maybe this can be inspirational? Not sure how to tie it to Excel and data, though…

After seeing that, you can reduce your reader count to 11. And that's binary.
Mathias: That's just gross.
John: I definately lost the clown demographic.
"…to 11. And that's binary."
Priceless!
"It has to be free, fun to play with, and interesting…."
Ladies (and gentlemen) I present to you .. Miiiiiiikeeee Alexandeeeeeeer !!! (applause)
..on second thoughts, take this – "The widely acclaimed Excel MVP Supuerhero reveals his true self…."
@datapig: I know Bacon Lube is not for all audiences, but herpes is not exactly part of my default small-talk topics selection either; and it was somewhat successful in creating internet buzz… Personally, I found the idea so bizarre (and funny) that I had to check out the site when I heard about it.
Mathias: I was just kidding. I love bacon lube.
Just kidding again…unless it's not weird to like it.
I am doing a research on viral marketing for my master. The purpose of this study is to analyze three successful viral videos. If you want to participate, please click this link:

Perhaps you should check the demographics of your readers. If say someone is a clown as well as a policeman and also from New Zealand, then you can make 3 jokes at the expense of only one reader.
