If you're one of my 12 fans, you would have noticed that I abandoned my blogging duties this week. I was busy getting caught up on my publishing deadlines. I'm not sure about other authors, but I just can't write at home. It's not that I don't have a home office – I do. It's just that my home office isn't 3 stories underground where my family can't get to me.
It's not really Mrs. Pig that disturbs my writing progress; she's not that keen on talking to me anyway. It's the kids. For some reason, they still love me and want to be around me. In time, they'll learn to ignore me too. But for now, they keep busting in and asking me questions like "Are you still working" and "Why don't you love us anymore".
I honestly don't know how people can work from home. Between the family and my tendency to gravitate toward the refrigerator, I would never get anything done.
I was thinking about getting an Outdoor Office Pod. But this might be a bit much.

This is why I spent my week huddled up in my local Starbucks. There are several pros and cons to doing work from a Starbucks.
Pros:
- No internet (so I can't get distracted by on-line goodies)
- Easy access to good coffee
- No one asks you to leave, even though you've been there for eight hours.
Cons:
- If all you consume all day is Coffee, you get what I call the "Jittery Poops". Not cool man….not cool.
- Starbucks likes to play some really obnoxious music really loud. It's a little hard to concentrate. If your extremely lucky, some jackass employee will pull out his guitar and play one of his "original songs".
- After three days at Starbucks, they start looking at you like you're a homeless man.
In any case, I'm pretty much caught up on my writing – thanks in part to Starbucks.
Regular posts will start again next week. I've got some good stuff planned.
Now it's time for a shower and a shave.
Question is…is any of your 12 fans from Starbucks? If so, double check that foam on top of your cappuccino next time…it may not be what you think, after they read this post.
Sbux = Good coffee? I object.
what book are you working on? an excel book? access book? is it too early to announce?
Kwame: A book called "The Excel Analyst's Guide to Access". It's basically a book that will show Excel power users how to expand thier skill-set by incorporating Access into thier cache of tools.
Is it going to be similar to the content in your book, Excel & Access Integration with Excel 2007?
That books has been great by the way.
Good day. Initial I would like to say that I genuinely like your webpage, just determined it last week but I've been following it ever since then.
I appear to consent with most of the ideas and opinions and this post is no exception. I fully
