Hello Excel nerds. Here are a couple of updates on the blog and upcoming events.
I received several notes from my 12 fans that they weren’t able to post comments from Chrome and Firefox. This was because of a plugin that I used to avoid spam. This should have been an easy fix, but the blog wasn’t properly updating to the latest version of WordPress. After a week of frustration, I was finally able to manually update this blog to the latest version of WordPress. This effectively fixes the issue and you should now be able to post comments from any browser.
New Book in the Works
I’m currently working on a new book: Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools for Excel Analysts. This book will cover everything an Excel Analyst needs to go from Power Pivot to SharePoint dashboards. Included in the book are chapters on: Power Pivot, DAX, Power Query (formerly Data Explorer), Power Map (formerly GeoFlow), Power View, SQL Server integration, building SSIS packages, upsizing to SharePoint, and implementing SharePoint Dashboard portals. It’s an exciting project that will yield a solid book by March or April of next year.
New Training In April 2014
I’m also excited to announce that Bill Jelen (Mr. Excel) and I will be putting on a new Business Intelligence Boot Camp next April in Bentonville, Arkansas. We’ll have space for 75 registrants. This boot camp will cover all things BI from the perspective of the business analyst. We’ll have details on the agenda and pricing in a couple of weeks.
That’s it for now. I’ll continue regular posts next week.
Until then, keep it spicy.
