Bacon Driven Traffic

So I'm checking my Google Analytics stats, and what do I see? Bacon searches are actually driving traffic to my site.

Here is a portion of my Source Traffic table:

Apparently, the smell of Bacon is actually luring more people to my site than some Excel and Access topics.

So Bacon beats out pivot tables and histograms. Awesome!

I can imagine some fat bastard looking up Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops, only to get a face full of Excel and Access.

Entry number three is interesting (Access Bacon). I guess it's common practice to mix up unrelated key words. I think I'll try that some time. Maybe something like "avocado knuckles" or "meat helmet".

I think I'll post this picture just in case someone comes looking for "Histogram Bacon".

  1. Very impressive.

For those first two search terms, your site appears before Betty Crocker's "Bacos" site. Now, if you can just out-rank Hormel's "Bacon Topics" page, you'll be well on your way to becoming a household name in the worldwide bacon bits market.

No wonder your PageRank is so low. Google can't decide if this is a site about Microsoft Office or bacon recipes.

Have you actually considered selling bacon products here? Might help you bring home more bacon.

Of course the bacon generates more traffic! If you had to foreswear either Microsoft apps or bacon forever, which would you choose? (The apps, of course.)

As a financial analyst with food blog as a hobby, I must say that I love your blog and your sense of humor. When I get around to adding a blogroll to my site, you'll definitely be on the list…
