The 4 Year Old’s Take on Christmas

December 26, 2009 by datapig Leave a reply »

As we were putting the kids to bed on Christmas evening, my 4 year old daughter complained that “We didn’t do anything fun today”.
.
We didn’t do anything fun?  We just had Christmas!  She woke up to a bevy of new toys and ate Christmas cookies all day long!
..
If today wasn’t fun then every other day of her 4-year-old life must be a complete struggle.
.
I asked my son how he liked Christmas this year.  You’ll be glad to know that he thinks it was “Pretty good”.
.
This is why we called these kids our miracle A-holes.

Some stakes are just too high! My two boys each got what was on top of their individual wish list. Now each of them is grumpy because they did not get what the _other_ one got!

    Go figure.

Next year, give them an Excel add-in, or something bacon-related. That’ll teach ‘em.

Mike that should tell you something. It taught us something 10 years ago when things were good. Today things have changed. Do it sooner than later, the days of give me, give me are gone and the sooner they know what is really out there the better they will be for it. You may not think so, but remember this down the road. Ask them what they recived last year for Xmas or even what they recieved on there birthday if they can tell you be surprise. In any case thank-you for all your help and input this past year God Bless and have a Happy New Year.
